Partially assembled tensegrity by SmilingY Partially assembled tensegrity by SmilingY
This is a partially completed tensegrity icosahedron.

My process connected all of the appropriate vertices with cable and then gradually shortened them until it reached its final form.

Seemed a good idea :l I'd also try to use as few pieces of cord as possible, one string per edge to make it look tidy, though it's mathematically impossible in one go) and comlicated to arrange at first, but now you can replace them one by one.
Oopsy, ment to reply.

It would be interesting to learn how some of the big installations of it were assembled. Many online tutorials are small and based on rubber bands.

It definitely would be cleaner with single cables. I hadn't thought of the idea of retrofitting it.

Geometry is love) d20 is life) Though cord connections look overcomplicated, and you might use some turnbuckles.

I tried turnbuckles at first, but the didn't have enough difference between fully extended and tightened. To get started, I found I needed edges that were way too long and then I shortened them all gradually.

Another problem with turnbuckles was preventing them from loosening once they were taut.
